Pro

Note that this is the same God who supposedly "cannot lie" (Numbers 23:19, 1 Samuel 15:29, Titus 1:2). It appears that God's ability to spread misinformation is not impaired. --Robert Stevens 07:40, 24 Nov 2005 (CST)

Response to Con piece: The Bible is quite clear that God is the instigator of this deception (whether he lies in person, or sends an angel to lie for him, is irrelevant). He doesn't passively "allow" people to believe a falsehood: the delusion is actively sent from God. --Robert Stevens 06:58, 23 Nov 2006 (CST)

Con

God didn't lie, but allowed the people to believe a lie as punishment for their refusal to accept the truth.
