12 Zech.11:9 "I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another."
Skeptic's Annotated Bible
Are we to assume this traditional practice is wholly condemned or should we seek out recipes in the text?
- Some of these are figures of speech, others are prophecies of war and deprivation. However, if you're interested in creating a new page to discuss these issues, go for it. --JustinEiler 09:44, 31 Oct 2005 (CST)
Being a boolean dunce, I have been unable to figure out how to start a discussion. Can you point me in the right direction?
- Sorry about that--I've started a page (Cannibalism in the Bible), and copied your discussion there. Tomorrow I'll start the "Starting a new discussion" help page and move this to the talk page.
Re cannibalism: Do you know of any scriptural proscription of the practice?
- Only sort of--in the dietary laws, human flesh is not included among the things that are considered as "clean" to eat, and of course, there is "Thou shalt not kill." But I don't know of a direct proscription against cannibalism.
