JW:

Matthew 1:

18 "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit."
19 "And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily."

Mary has gone from engaged to married after a mere thirteen words, a record that would stand until Liz Taylor two thousand years later. It's certainly a minor error describing Joseph as Mary's husband at this point in the narrative since Joseph is generally thought of priMarily as Mary's husband (rather than fiancee). But as the narrative here is giving Joseph's thinking at a specific point in time (before he was husband) technically the narrative should refer to his status at that time.
