Though raised as a Christian, I don't recall ever believing that the Bible was literally true. And, like most Brits, I was unaware of the American "Young-Earth Creationist" phenomenon until a few years ago. It was through debating YEC's that I became more aware of the Bible's failings in other areas too. Even though I've been an atheist since the age of 10 or thereabouts, I hadn't realised just how much of it was essentially bunk (those of a delicate disposition can insert "symbolic" or "metaphorical" or "a product of its times"... whatever).

On inerrancy: online resources such as www.skepticsannotatedbible.com are fairly comprehensive, but I'd prefer something that can go into more depth, giving relevant background info (where appropriate) and answering likely apologetic responses.
