What Was Jesus' Response To The High Priest?

JW:

Bart Ehrman points out in Jesus, Interrupted different responses by Jesus in different Gospels:

Mark 14:62

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.

Verses:

Luke 22:69

But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.

Failed Prophecy

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven. (ASV)

JW: First, let's look at this verse in context:

Mark 14: (RSV)

60: "And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?" 61: But he was silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" 62: And Jesus said, "I am; and you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."

JW: Literally, "Mark's" Jesus predicts that the High Priest at the time (you) would witness Jesus making a Daniel like supernatural appearence of some Type. I think we would all agree though that in the intervening 2,000 odd years no one has made a Daniel like supernatural appearence except for KISS. And unless the High Priest was actually Joan Rivers the Statute of Possible Limitations seems to have expired on this one.

In order to defend against claimed error here you have to introduce a Figurative element to Jesus' supposed claim above. Go Figure JP.

As a related side note I'll point out that Implications are often a factor in determining the likelihood of error. Let's assume for instance that "Mark" accurately reported what Jesus actually said. So technically the error is in what Jesus said and not what "Mark" wrote. Is there an error then in what "Mark" wrote? Most Skeptics would say yes because of the Implication that the author wanted to present his Jesus as making accurate predictions. Why then shouldn't possible Implications made by the "authors" of the Christian Bible as a whole, such as the Placement of "Matthew", also be considered?
